Is the Principal Bass Trombonist of the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra. He holds a BA from the LSU School of Music and recently earned his Masters Degree in Orchestral Performance from Mannes College at the New School in New York City.
Alan has performed on stage with Wycliffe Gordon, Chris Botti, Bonerama and Diane Reeves, among others. Alan has participated in the commission of several new works and has worked as an arranger for New Orleans’ famous St. Joseph’s Cathedral.
He has attended numerous audition-only summer festivals and, as a result, has studied closely with some of the world’s leading brass artists including Peter Ellefson, Toby Oft and all members of the American Brass Quintet.
This is Alan’s fifth year working with the ECMA and his second year leading the festival’s brass quintet program.
